Refraction
Included in LUT Exports
AKA Filmic HSL. Refraction wheels are a power-tool for filmic color remapping and compression. Change hue and saturation in shadows and highlights independently for all color vectors using a highly stable, filmic color transform model.
- Refraction Wheels: Adjust hue and film density of six primary color points (Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Magenta) separately for shadows and highlights.
- Link/Unlink: Control both luminance regions together or separately for shadows vs highlights.
- Threshold: Adjust where the shadow-to-highlight split occurs.
- Shortcuts: Cmd/Ctrl + Drag locks the hue angle for density-only adjustments. Shift + Drag locks the density for hue-only adjustments.
- Reset: Double-click individual points or use the panel reset button.
Built in Film Emulation: Color Refraction provides advanced film-like color compression and expansion capabilities, with built-in film density for fine grained color control over the LUT or image.
Move points closer to each other to perform hue-compression, or spread them out to increase color contrast.
